Job Description:

The Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) performs a variety of clerical functions in the clinical setting. The HUC interacts with both internal and external Customers and utilizes the Hospital Information System to accurately perform order entry, transcribe physician orders, and retrieve patient data.  The HUC maintains and processes all medical record information. Work is prioritized with the input of the RNs.  All work is conducted in a manner that supports the Mission, Vision, and Values of the hospital. 

Preferred Skills:

High School graduate or equivalent. 1 year experience in a hospital or clinic setting preferred.  Computer knowledge and phlebotomy certification preferred.  Must be able to read patient menus and communicate with patients and nursing staff effectively.
